Ziza Muftic is a musician; a jazz vocalist, educator, pianist and composer. While she is a Johannesburg-based performing artist, her roots are in Zagreb, Croatia. Ziza has performed with some of South Africa’s top jazz musicians like Sydney Mnisi, Reza Khota, and Marcus Wyatt.

In March 2015 she release her debut album titled Ziza Muftic Quartet: Silver moonbeams. The album was produced by the composer and well-known South African jazz trumpet player, Marcus Wyatt. Ziza: Shining hour, 2019, is her second independent album release, produced by Theodora and Kevin Drummond (Hot Club d’Afrique).

“Ziza is a storyteller/chanteuse, rather than a predictable, by-the-numbers ‘jazz’ singer. When she employs a jazz technique, such as the scatting on Love is the Drug, it’s done deliberately and judiciously, to complement what she calls Ferry’s ‘cheeky’ lyrics, rather than as a default device. Shining Hour takes that character forward with repertoire that’s both diverse and accessible – and an increasingly distinctive approach as both composer and arranger. – Gwen Ansell, Jazz writer and journalist
